When decorating your space, choosing the right paint finish (or sheen level) is just as important as selecting the color. The finish affects how light reflects off the surface, how easy it is to clean, and how durable the paint will be.
Emulsion paints are water-based and typically dry to a matte or low-sheen finish. This non-reflective properties make matte emulsions excellent at hiding minor wall imperfections, dents, or waves. It is highly recommended for living rooms, master bedrooms, and ceilings.
Satin paints, on the other hand, have a semi-gloss pearlescent finish. It is highly scrubbable, stain-resistant, and ideal for high-traffic zones like hallways, kitchens, bathrooms, and children's rooms. Satin finishes bounce light, making rooms feel slightly larger and brighter. Consider your room's function and wall conditions before deciding!
